Industries and Craft Cement Factory at Mashyuza The district of Rusizi has got a few small scale industries including CIMERWA that processes cement, the Electrogaz station at Mururu which generates electricity, and a tea processsing plant at Shagasha. There is also SONAFRUITS industry that processes fruits in order to extract juice. This industry is very beneficial to the district population because it provides ready market for their produce especially fruits like maracuja, apples, mangoes, etc.
The income that is got from the sale of these fruits facilitates them to pay school fees for their children and cover other important expenses. The district also has a coffee processing plants and a washing station at Mibirizi
