Rusizi District has improved its road constructing some roads and rehabilitating some. For instance the feeder road from Mutara to MAGERWA in Mururu sector was rehabilitated

The district also repaired the Pindura-Bweyeye road in Bweyeye sector that facilitated the easy movement of the inhabitants in different sectors.

The Cyapa-Mutimasi-Mibirizi road in Kamembe and Nyakarenzo sectors was rehabilitated with the of the CDF funding.

The Netherlands Embassy also helped in rehabilitating Rwahi-Shangi road and Nyamaronko-bweyeye road in Bweyeye sector.

The district also facilitated the upgrading of Kamembe airstripe that facilitates the movement of people and goods from the district to far away places like Kigali and in Bukavu in the neighboring DRC, this facilitates cross-border trade within the two countries.

The telecommunication network for mobile phone is available in all the sectors of the district and it has postal services provided by the National Posts Institution. This helps the population of the district to be able to communicate and go through their daily activities more easily.
