Rusizi District has got four hotels which are Ten To Ten Hotel, Petites colline, Hôtel des Chutes and Hôtel Kivu and some others owned by religious establishments like Home St François, Centre de Pastoral Incuti and Peace Guest House not forgetting those owned by private individuals like Umucyo Lodge and Rubavu hotel.

The tourism sector in the district is not well developed due to lack of investors. The sector seems to be virgin and there is great potential especially with regard to Nyungwe National Park home to a variety of primates.

Lake Kivu is also a tourist destination for those who enjoy swimming, canoeing, diving and fishing as a part time recreation activities.

This helps the population in improving their trade with other districts or other places because the mode of transport used is more faster and more reliable.
