The district of Rusizi has accomplished several in various sectors like in commerce, education, transport, agriculture and environment, culture, warehousing, administration etc.

In commerce, CDF funded the construction of taxi-bus park in Kamembe in Gihundwe sector, markets at Gishoma Phase 1 Rwimbogo in Nzahaha sector and in Nyakabuye Phase 2 in Nyakabuye sector.

The district with the help of PDRH constructed a school at Nyamubembe in Nyamubembe sector and also others at Muguli, Musumba and Butambamo in Nzahaha sector.

Rehabilitation of Pindura-Bweyeye road in Bweyeye sector, Cyapa-mutimasi-Mibirizi in Kamembe and Nyakarenzo sectors, Mashyuza-Nyakabuye roads in Nyakabuye and Bugarama sectors with funding from CDF. The Netherlands Embassy also facilitated the rehabilitation of Rwahi-Shangi road that helped in easing the transport costs of the population in those sectors.

In agriculture and environment the district with the help from DEMP/MINITERE distributed environmental friendly stoves to all the sectors of the district.

It was also involved in planting bamboo trees on the banks of L. Kivu, organizing competitions in environmental protection in all the district sectors, weaving bags that would replace polythene bags that were banned from the country.

With the funding from CDF the district was also able to construct radical terraces on 70ha at Kabasigirira A & B sites in Mururu sector and another 30ha at Kinyanga in Nkanka sector.

The district was assisted by the French embassy to construct a cultural center at Mont Cyangugu in Kamembe sector.

The sectors of Nkanka, Gitambi and Nzahaha were provided with offices to facilitate their work and to ease the population to be able to access services easily. The district also rehabilitated Nkombo health center in Nkombo sector and provided water to Kabingo and Nyabintare in Bugarama sector.
